I read another great article today (courtesy of Slam Online). In it, the Washington Post explores Michael Jordan’s final days in DC. It has all the elements of Greek tragedy–a larger-than-life protagonist, great struggles, and, of course, the hubris that is the protagonist’s fatal flaw. It’s well worth reading, even for those that aren’t basketball fans, because it shows how adulation can polish arrogance to a dangerous sheen, to the point where it brought down the most famous and powerful athlete in history.
