There Are Exits To The North, South, and West

Everything old is new again. Several enterprising fellows have found a way to make Infocom text adventures playable via IM. Basically, they’ve created bots that take IM messages and input them into the Infocom software, then send the program’s response via IM to the player.

It’s just screen and print scraping, but it’s a brilliant way to make wildly entertaining games like Zork available to a mobile audience.

Somewhere in here is a huge business opportunity, I just don’t know what.
