  1. It’s usually safe to presume that there isn’t a bubble if large numbers of people are publicly stating that they believe there is a bubble.

Please don’t forget that we’re in America, and in America we like to do *everything* to some degree of excess. That’s what we do and how we do it.

My prediction: Your so-called “Bubble Bubble” will continue to expand until people get tired of talking about it and move on to the next perceived “bubble”.

Enough “bubble babble” already. If anyone doesn’t like excess, America is the wrong place for them to be living.

If they prefer that Americans become calm, sedate, and supremely rational, like the Europeans, with their lackluster economy and economic prospects, emmigration is an option.

  2. Jack,

You make a good point. But if you may recall the most recent stock market bubble, the “bubble babble” is actually the penultimate stage of the bubble.

Back in 1998 and 1999, many people warned that there was a bubble. But by 2000, the Cassandras had given up. When that happens, the end is near.

So we’re not at the top yet, but we’re close.

As for America, one of my favorite bits from the Simpsons is when Homer Simpson is in Brazil, and he’s wearing a t-shirt that shows Uncle Sam eating the globe with the caption, “Just try to stop us.”

I’m proud to be an American. Ultimately, it will be our culture and spirit that converts the rest of the world to our way of thinking, not our weapons. The old will eventually die, and the young will always gravitate to freedom.
